We wrapped up our Cultural Connectedness Summer program with our very own culture. And what is one of America’s favorite pastimes as a culture? A good old American barbecue! We had something for everyone. BBQ ribs, cheese burgers, grilled zucchini straight out of our very own garden, corn on the cob and local watermelon from Brosi’s Sugartree Farms. We had 7 chefs today. They did an amazing job as usual! So proud of everyone who participated this summer. Happy 2017/2018 school year to all of you!
The kids are showing off their passports and the map that shows all the places they visited through our culturaly connected summer programs this year. China, Japan, Jamaica, The Philippines, Mexico, Spain, Louisiana, Sweden, India and Italy are just a few of the places we visited.
The grand reveal! We wanted to have a fresh new look for the kids this year. The poppy colored accent wall matches our counter tops.
We balanced the poppy with turquoise.
The meaning of the color turquoise is open communication and clarity of thought.
Tai Chi! So much fun!!
Fajitas, Spanish Rice and cherries. That’s what’s for Teen Cuisine! As good as any you would get in a restaurant! Great job chefs! We had 7 cooking today. I’m always impressed by what we can do in our tiny kitchen with what we have to work with. No stove! Just individual burners, a toaster oven, an electric fry pan, microwave and some pots and pans.
These kids are orchestrating gourmet meals with this equipment. Love it!
Just another day of giving our teens safe, quality, alternative activities!
These are our Just Dance champs!! 1st, 2nd and 3rd from left to right. ?
